Coo-Coo Golf Championship

Another windy one, yet a beautiful day for the 2nd Annual Coo-Coo Golf Championship here at the Coo-coo Country Club! The course was redesigned this year, and the new layout caused some challenge for some of the contestants, some of whom have never seen the back of F-bldg since the 80’s. The rules changed for the use of an apparatus this year, whereas many people opted for the use of the tennis racquet, there were also lacrosse sticks, pickleball paddles, and baseball bats. This year was the first “Closest to the Plate” competition where Mike Almeida was the victor. In the end, there was a two-way tie between Simmon/Blackbeard and DelSanto/Lawson, both at -7, 7 under par! Bob Campion is still reviewing the camera footage, so official results are TBD!  They needed 2 playoff holes to ultimately break the tie, but in the end it was the team of TJ DelSanto and Jon Lawson taking home the Coo-Coo Cup!  We are also in the works of building a new Coo-Coo Golf Course, scheduled to break ground any day now. We are waiting on state funding, town approval, and the architects to sum up the information from our user meetings, I am guessing around 2028!  Congrats to all, and see you next year.
