MHHS ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION
 DEVICE YONDR
POUCH POLICY
MHHS is an environment free from electronic communication devices and utilizes the Yondr Pouch to ensure that all electronic communication devices are secured as students enter the building. This practice is in keeping with School Committee Policy JICJ and, as of August, is also required by state law.

MHHS adopted this policy in 2024 as part of our school-based efforts to improve academic focus, support social-emotional well-being, and promote school safety. Our student handbook has been updated to reflect the new legislation and includes the expectations and procedures for implementation. We encourage you to review the updated handbook.

This year, we expect all students to lock their phones and any other non-district-issued electronic devices in their Yondr Pouch each day. We also expect the number of students attesting that they do not have a phone or other electronic communication device to be minimal.

Any student who attests that they do not have a phone or other electronic communication device will be asked to sign an attestation confirming that they are not in possession of one. Such students may also be subject to a random search to confirm that they are not in possession of an electronic communication device.

Thank you for your cooperation and support as we continue to maintain a focused, safe, and supportive learning environment for all students.
